Who would you cheer on?

I have read a couple of books where the authors seem to want the reader to cheer on or encourage a character or two. I felt like that with Billy in “How to Eat Fried Worms” and Penny from “Penny Pollard’s Letters”. Have you read any books like that?

Examples:

Leif from the Deltora Quest series is brave and a good friend;
Will from the Ranger’s Apprentice is quick-witted and courageous;
Hermione of the Harry Potter series is very clever and a great researcher.

What if Red Riding Hood had been given huge green gumboots? Would it change the story?

Can you suggest any other clothes that LRRH could have been given? Remember to be descriptive and follow the pattern – size adjective, colour adjective, third adjective, then noun. So -

small blue fluffy jumper;
massive orange barbeque apron;
tiny pastel woolly beanie.
