Gifts and Talents

19 04 2008

Some characters have special gifts that help them.

Examples:

  • Leif from the Deltora Quest series is brave and a good friend;
  • Will from the Ranger’s Apprentice is quick-witted and courageous;
  • Hermione of the Harry Potter series is very clever and a great researcher.

If you had the power to give two special gifts, what would you give?  Which book character would you give them to?

I would give Ron two things - courage and cleverness.

Gaya, don’t you think Ron is brave? Or does he only show courage at certain times? Makes me wonder if we’re all a bit like that …..

the things i would give Neville Longbottom, cleverness, because he’s not exactly the smartest kid, and the ability to stand up to people, because he gets teased a lot, even though he does stand up to people sometimes.

I would perhaps give the bad guys in stories (e.g Draco Malfoy) the ability to be nice and helpful to other people even though I know books are boring if all the characters are on the same side……….

I would give Richelle the ability to not worry about how she looks or what people think of her.

I would give Charlie Bone from ‘The Children of the Red King’ series the skill of not being so snoopy and to stop worring so much about things.
